nyStress Solutions, was started by two registered yoga teachers trained in stress management,Sandra Gilbert and Carol Mager. They offer yoga based techniques at stress release workshops, enabling participants to choose healthy ways of responding to stress.

For all of us, stress is a part of life. Stress may occur on the job, at home or in the environment. Unrecognized and unmanaged, stress can become a chronic problem. There have been many studies that show chronic stress impacts on productivity and overall health and well being.
Our unique workshops offer a didactic portion to educate participants in the physiology of stress. This is followed by an experience of releasing stress using breathing, stretching and deep relaxation.
nyStress Solutions stress release workshops will cover:
*Discussion: what is stress and how it effects the body and mind
*Centering: how to become present in the moment
*Stretching and movement: how to release muscle tension
*Relaxation: experience deep release into inner steadiness and calm
*Breathing techniques: learn to calm and balance the nervous system
*Meditation: develop the ability to focus the mind and increase tolerance to stress
To encourage participants to continue these practices on their own, we distribute easy to use guides for each technique.

Who would benefit from stress release workshops? People of any age, with or without experience in yoga or other stress management programs. Our workshops are gentle, interesting and fun. Many participants have said that they are now using these techniques at home on a daily basis and it has improved their overall sense of well being.
